Choro received lay and priest precepts from Josho Pat Phelan Roshi, Chapel Hill Zen Center, Suzuki Roshi lineage. She has practiced since 1999 in Chapel Hill and trained at all three temples of the SF Zen Center. For many years she facilitated meditation at state and federal prisons in North Carolina. She is now retired from her university teaching and administration career.
